India on Saturday belted another T20I series against Sri Lanka when they defeated the visitors by 2-1 in a three-match series. It was Suryakumar Yadav’s night in the third T20I at Rajkot as the Mumbai Indians batter took the contest away from Sri Lanka in the first innings itself. Yadav’s unbeaten 112 off just 51 helped Hardik Pandya and co. post 228 before registering a big win by 91 runs. Yadav’s blistering knock attracted great appreciation from around the world and one among them was India’s former captain Virat Kohli.

After Yadav smashed his third T20I ton, Kohli posted a picture of Suryakumar Yadav celebrating a ton. The former Indian skipper hailed the 32-year-old batter using emojis. Now Yadav has given a priceless reaction to Kohli’s appreciation post. In a video posted by BCCI, Yadav was seeing the wishes of people on his Instagram. One wish which caught the Mumbai batter’s attention was that of Virat Kohli. Yadav got in awe after seeing Kohli appreciating him. “Kisne daala hai ye story. Story pe chale gayein bhai,” Yadav said. He replied to Kohli on his Instagram, “Bhaauuuu, Bahut Saaraa Pyaar. See you soon.”

The cricketing world lavished praise on Suryakumar as he continues to dominate the shortest format. Each of the world no.1 T20I batter’s three tuns in the format have come in the last six months. The knock against Sri Lanka yesterday was his first ton in international cricket on home soil and achieved the three-figure mark in last year’s bilateral tour of England and New Zealand respectively.

Suryakumar and Kohli will reunite as the Indian batting legend returns to the team for the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka which will begin on Tuesday (January 10). Suryakumar will look to transfer his T20I form to 50-over cricket and seal his place in India’s World Cup squad.

Batting first, India put a mammoth score of 228/5 in 20 overs, while the Islanders got all out for just 137 in 16.4 overs and faced a 91-run defeat in the series decider.

SKY displayed a 360-degree show in his innings and smashed bowlers all over the ground. He hit nine sixes and seven fours during his sensational knock. The 32-year-old has now become only the second Indian batter after Rohit Sharma and fifth international player worldwide to smash three or more tons in T20Is. His first and second centuries in the shortest format came against England and New Zealand, respectively.

Pandya wasn’t the only Indian bowler glad to be on the same team as the Mumbai batter. “I am happy to be on his team,” said Yuzvendra Chahal. “What Surya does in nets, you see that in the match. We try and send the best bowlers to him in the nets.”
